Stay at a boutique lodge in Mai Chau valley overlooking rice paddy fields, craggy limestone & jungle mountain peaks. Cycle or trek to tiny villages and visit ethnic minority hill tribes who still wear traditional dress. Explore inside caves or simply relax by the swimming pool. Experience an overnight cruise through over 1000 limestone peaks in the World Heritage listed, magical Ha long Bay aboard a traditional ‘junk’, kayak in crystalline emerald waters and secluded lagoons, or relax on a sun lounge and soak up the scenery of this truly spectacular bay.

About the Organization

Buffalo Tours pioneered the introduction of various adventure travel activities and areas to the modest adventure travel map of Vietnam. We single-handedly developed the region of Mai Chau for trekking from 1994. We also introduced the first sea kayaking tours in Halong Bay in 1997 using wood kayaks.

Today, Buffalo Tours is an internationally-renowned, award-winning travel company spanning Indochina. We are recognized as one of the top inbound tour operators and destination management companies in Vietnam. Last year we provided tours for over 16,000 satisfied clients. As well as our many individual direct clients, we enjoy global and constantly growing partnerships with international tour operators and travel agents. Buffalo Tours is a leading inbound tour operator and provides destination management and inbound ground handling for over 200 companies worldwide.

Green Practices

Buffalo Tours are involved in a number of Responsible Travel initiatives and are always looking to develop more. We donate thousands of dollars annually to humanitarian causes and were the first travel company in Vietnam to offer volunteer travel. Our genuine commitment to Responsible Travel is increasingly well-known and our programs are evolving. Some of our ‘voluntourism’ holidays include volunteering in Northern Vietnam helping to protect the many species found in the area. This includes working at the Conservation Centre in Cuc Phuong National Park. This centre focuses on Turtle & Endangered primate conservation projects. There is also a chance to participate in a grassroots wildlife protection survey by helping staff carry out important undercover work of the illegal wildlife trade in Hanoi.
