About the Trip

Live like an adventurer for 5 days and 4 nights as you build your own raft of logs and ropes and float down the River Klarälven in Värmland. The perfect family get-a-way for 2 adults and 2 children. This trip comes with basic equipment, kitchen equipment, sleeping bags with sheets and mattresses and one 4 persons tent. The donation is valid any of the summer seasons in 2008 or 2009.

River Klarälven has the longest history of use as a professional logging route in Sweden and were used for this purpose right up until 1991. Today you have a unique opportunity to keep this old tradition alive by building your own timber-raft. During your timber-raft tour you are certain to have some memorable and occasionally exhilarating experiences. If you like spending your time outdoors and don’t fear a trip not planned in every second – and for which you will have to do some physical hard work – this timber raft tour will suit you very well. The rafting conditions are determined by the current water level and this, just as the weather and the wind, will highly affect this way to travel.

About this Organization:

Our concept for Vildmark i Värmland is to offer unforgettable nature based activities and experiences for companies, families and groups. We do this by giving the guests various programs. One offers the opportunity to build their own, timber raft and float down river Klarälven. We have canoe tours in rivers and lakes far away from stress and haste. We also offer a grand experience of the nature and personal challenge through adventure in Brattfallet and river rafting.

The purpose is to offer more enjoyable way to travel for all parties. More fun for our guests, for our instructurs, and for the locals. We strive to be in nature on its own terms and rhythm so that our joint responsibility for it becomes clear. Vildmark i Värmland offer time. Timber rafting takes time but it also gives time. In a society with a lot of stress our work is done in a stressfree zone where nature decides speed and content.

Green Practices:

In November 1998, together with ALMI in Värmland, Vildmark i Värmland started work on introducing the ISO 14001 environmental management system in the company. This project took place together with five major industrial companies in the regions Värmland, Närke and Västergötland, and was completed in 2000.

Since the beginning of 1979, Vildmark i Värmland has worked on minimising the burden on the environment. This has meant we have always restricted the number of guests for our activities, have repaired and maintained the equipment, used local suppliers, provided information (in various languages) on how to move around in the countryside, etc. All this has been with the aim of giving our guests a pleasant experience with us, and creating long-term and sustainable operations in the countryside. Guests will be able to continue visiting us in the future.

We at Vildmark i Värmland and our guests have source-sorted our rubbish at all facilities since 1995, even though the municipalities have not been ready for this.
