Showing Sweden to the World
For 18 months, beginning in the fall of 2006, House of Sweden incorporates several programs and topics that highlight the achievements and values of Swedish society, and examine the relationship between Sweden and the United States through exhibitions, performances, seminars and discussions. The overall themes are broad in nature with welcome participation and input from our partners and program sponsors. The knowledge and background that various industry representatives can contribute will generate artistic, innovative and thought-provoking exhibits and provide a foundation for additional seminars, conferences and other program activities.
Tourism Discover Sweden
Sweden is a wonderful travel destination – in both the summer and the winter. Sweden offers colorful traditions, unique sounds, sights and scenery which are available to anyone who takes the time to explore our long, narrow country. Popular Swedish tourist destinations, cultural treasures and culinary treats will be the main topics during this theme at the Swedish Embassy (March to June 2008). Swedish music and American music produced by Swedes, outdoor concerts and performances by both established performers and newcomers will complement the planned seminars and lectures.
Architecture for Diplomacy and Dialogue
House of Sweden has been awarded Sweden’s most prestigious architecture award; the Kasper Salin Prize for best building. Announced on the 16th of November 2007, the award is a testament to the work and creativity that has gone into creating this unique building.
